No More Mr. Nice Guy Y/N?

I picked up a pax last night after nine in an affluent part of town. He worked at a Subway sandwich shop. The store was closed, but he still kept me waiting almost five minutes.

Strike 1.

He finally came shuffling toward the car from across the parking lot. You know the type: smarmy, arrogant, never shuts his mouth. Big plans to change the world, just can’t afford a car right now.

Strike 2.

“Hey, chief, you can save me a lot of money if you stop right there at that store on the corner. (Points out store.) I won’t be but a minute. We’re going right by it.”

Strike 3.

Against my better judgement, I stopped. Pax was EXACTLY the kind of lowlife who slams you with 1 star and a lie. I then sat there watching him thru the glass as he waited for two other people in line ahead of him at the lotto machine.

Strike 4!!!

(Oh, yeah. Then he asked to be dropped off in a different location.)

I cleared the ride and let it go. Surprisingly, he did not sandbag me either. But like most sensible drivers, I’m fed up with this kind of trifling behavior and wonder if I should have given him a 1 star rating, along with an accusation of being ‘disrespectful?’ Disrespectful for asking me to break the rules, and disrespectful for asking me to do my job for free.
