First time in an accident. What's the process?

I was involved in a non at fault accident. The police came out and took a report. They got a copy of the dash cam footage and reviewed the collision. They determined I was not at fault. There were no injuries. I had a passenger in the car while it happened.

  1. The police were unaware I was doing Rideshare, so it's not in the report.

  2. I don't have the rideshare endorsement on my personal insurance (I know I should have it). I'm also not going to report this to my own insurance since I only have liability and obviously I can't mention Uber to them either way.

  3. The police gathered the other driver's personal information for the report.

  4. Uber's "Farmer's Insurance" contacted me saying they will be in touch and want to document what happened.

What happens next? Do I give Uber the police report once it's available and they'll go after the other drivers insurance?

Am I supposed to file a third party claim against the driver's insurance instead of using Uber's insurance?

Obviously I can't ask my insurance company to go after the other carrier since I only have liability.

I'm seeing conflicting answers on Google if drivers should go through with Uber's insurance.

I'm glad everyone is safe, but this is very stressful.

Thank you in advance!
