Started playthrough #4 a couple weeks ago in anticipation of the GTAVI announcement, and...

HOLY FUCK, this is my perfect game. Everything runs damn near flawlessly, the graphics (even by 2023 standards) pull zero punches, there's just the right level of intricacy, and the world feels truly FULL.

Most recently, I've played Starfield, Cyberpunk, and the three Spiderman titles. I'm a big single-player RPG guy. But RDR2, ever since its release, continues to hold the trophy of my only unwavering 10/10 videogame.

In previous runs, I rushed toward cash, flashy outfits, gold-coated guns, and racing horses. This time, I'm taking things slow. I'm camping every nightfall, foraging, crafting, hunting, fishing, and cooking. I'm a regular pelt-trading, haircut-and-bathing-regularly, chaotic good Arthur. I observe/interact with as many NPCs as I can, and take care of the animals and people around me. Every component listed above reacts with life, realism, and reward. When there's dialogue from some character remarking how "[X] happened a few weeks ago" it feels world-accurate.

I completely disappear into it; I've never enjoyed this game more. Likely, I've never enjoyed any game more. It's like I've gone to Westworld.

Rockstar Games, you're holding other developers to an absurdly high standard. Starfield is absolutely pitiful compared to this, and I've got 200+ hours in it.

If you're still active in this community, you probably agree, to an extent. Just wanted to share my continuously rediscovered excitement, amp myself up for GTA VI, and meat ride for a bit.
