If Devin Booker were to be placed on the trade block this offseason, which teams would you have inquiring about him and which team ultimately ends up with him?
Chris Haynes just reported that Devin Booker was told to “quiet down” and let the coaches speak in huddles. Considering Haynes is a player-friendly reporter, this likely came from Booker’s camp—meaning either he wants Mike Budenholzer fired or, even worse, he wants out of Phoenix.
If Booker were placed on the trade block this offseason, which teams would be calling? And more importantly, which team ultimately lands him?
Eastern Conference Suitors
Most teams prefer to send a star like Booker to the opposite conference to avoid facing him frequently. If that’s the case, here are some potential destinations: - Cleveland Cavaliers – If the Cavs flame out in the playoffs again, could they swap Darius Garland for Booker? - Boston Celtics – A Jaylen Brown-for-Booker trade could give Phoenix a more defensive-minded All-Star. - New York Knicks – Mikal Bridges (back to Phoenix), Josh Hart, and picks could be a compelling offer. - Orlando Magic – Desperately need a shooter. Could they package Jalen Suggs, Wendell Carter Jr., and picks? - Brooklyn Nets – If they land Cooper Flagg in the draft, could they try to fast-track contention by pairing him with Booker?
Western Conference Contenders
Despite the preference for an Eastern trade, Booker might stay in the West. Here are some teams that could make a serious run: - Houston Rockets – They own Phoenix’s draft picks and have reportedly been eyeing Booker for years. Could a deal be built around Jalen Green and picks? - Oklahoma City Thunder – They have a treasure trove of draft capital and young players to offer. - Memphis Grizzlies – Ja Morant or Desmond Bane plus draft capital could be intriguing. - Denver Nuggets – A Jamal Murray-for-Booker swap is unlikely, but worth discussing. - LA Clippers – Kawhi Leonard and their 2030/2031 first-rounders could be on the table, but they may prefer to use those assets for Kevin Durant instead to open up massive cap space in 2026.
If Phoenix is forced to trade Booker, I’d bet on Houston as the most logical destination due to their asset control over the Suns’ future. But the NBA is a crazy place where he could be traded to Detroit for 6 1st, 4 swaps and Ausar Thompson and no one would be shocked.
Who do you think ends up with him? What’s the best package Phoenix could get?
