LEEP results back today: adenocarcinoma in situ and CIN3. Has anyone had these results?
Positive with HPV 18 for multiple years, this was my first Leep as I always had CIN1 until this year.
My results came back with CIN3 and adenocarcinoma in situ but with negative margins. The doctor said she was able to remove it all but she also suggested a hysterectomy because of my age (41) and the fact that I don’t plan on having anymore children. My next appt is 12/1 and we are supposed to discuss it in more detail.
This is all complicated by the fact that I was recently diagnosed with Von Willebrand disease type 1 (mildest type) which means my blood doesn’t clot like normal. Found that out a couple of days after my Leep when I started bleeding an insane amount and my dr started going through my history. Luckily there is medicine to help that I only use during surgeries/ periods (haha finally have something to control my heavy periods only to find out I may soon not have a period).
I’m going to be asking my doctor a lot of questions on my visits but I was hoping to have some basic knowledge before going in. Google just scared the crap out of me so I decided to ask on here!
Does anyone know if a hysterectomy is usually recommended in this situation?
My dr stressed to me that I didn’t have cancer but then she also called it “stage 0” cancer. What does that mean!?
