Can't stand black coffee - how to sweeten it without sugars?
Hello! I'm 22 F, haven't been 100% confirmed for NAFLD, but I checked results for a gallbladder ultrasound and saw that some of the notes included state that I could potentially have fatty liver disease. I'm going in for a rebound check in a week, where I'll be talking to my doc about results and doing part 2 on blood tests; in the meantime, I'm trying to think of ways to eat better, move around more, etc.
I've read basically everywhere that black coffee is the best for fatty liver, but I cannot stand the taste of it without it being drenched in sweeteners! I've always stuck to tea for this very reason, but coffee sounds more and more like the better option (it would be decaf, since caffeinated coffee gives me panic attacks). Is there anything I can do to make it taste less... aggressive?? Honey, or syrup, or plant based milk, anything?
I've already been avoiding the majority of the foods I was eating before, and downloaded an exercise program to help me move more throughout the day. I just really cannot get into the groove of drinking coffee because it tastes so, so bitter.
I'm planning on keeping this up even after the next doctors appointment, just because I've had far too many health scares this year (COVID being most recent, still recovering from that) and I hope that it'll be easily reversed.
Any tips from coffee lovers, please let me know!
