Pace Pro Day 1
Recieved the Pace Pro this morning and have been very pleased so far. I'm upgrading from my Apex 2 Pro and these are my initial impressions:
The display is incredible. I've always disliked the MIP displays but used them out of necessity. This AMOLED display is bright, vibrant, and easy to read in all conditions (including sunlight, despite what all the MIP fans may lead you to believe).
The size is perfect. Coming from the Apex 2 Pro, this size is exactly what I want, and feels super light on my wrist.
Holy cow, these maps load quick. For anyone who has used the Apex or Vertix lines, you'll be familiar with just how slow and laggy the maps are. That has been totally fixed here, and it's hard to put into words just how much better the experience with maps is so far.
I thought I'd need the always on display turned on, but I was wrong. The gesture sensitivity is so good, and so I'm really excited to now plan to get the extra battery life without AOD turned on.
Watch face options seem very limited so far, but I'm sure that will change over time.
Battery has only dropped from 97% to 93% while using it today, and that's with a lot of fiddling with it which I'm sure used a lot of that.
Unfortunately the package arrived right after I got back from the mountains this morning, so I haven't tested the GPS tracking yet, but I've got quite a few workouts planned this week, and I'm excited to test out all of that.
My only worry is that I may damage the screen since I'm used to having a sapphire display. I ordered some screen protectors but when they arrived today they were the wrong size. But now I'm not sure if I'll put a screen protector on or not since I love the display so much.
