I usually hate anime, but loved Beserk, what else should I watch?
To clarify, often I find most anime overly dramatic, shallow, boring or just straight up weird. However, over the summer I binged the entire 1997 Beserk show in 2 days and loved it. Its ideas and implications about purpose and destiny are incredibly fascinating, and the world of Beserk really emphasizes this idea of finding a purpose in a hopeless world and what becomes of someone when they have no purpose, or when their entire reality is dictated by their self imposed purpose
Ultimately, I want to know if there is any other anime which approaches the depth and world building (which fits a purpose, not just miles of intricate lore) of Beserk.
I also love its 1990s art style, so another anime in that style would be a bonus
